XP DEUS

Although this detector has been ‘on the market’ for a couple of months, I did not want to list it until it had been properly tried and tested. There are now enough units out there to tell you about it.

The XP Deus is the answer to all you prayers! It is light, very easy to use, very deep seeking and has no cables and wires! What more can you ask? I can pick up any detector that I want but it is always the Deus that I take out on site. I challenge anyone to dislike this detector.

Four Frequencies (4, 8, 12 & 18khz) – I preferred to use the 12kHz as it was an ‘all-rounder’ but occasionally used the 18kHz looking for small hammered coins and the 8kHz for the extra depth on grass. You can change frequencies in a second on either the headphones or the control panel.

Control Panel/Meter – On club digs I only use the meter so that others can see how it works and try it out themselves. If out by myself then I just left it at home as it was not required. The meter is very good as is the pinpoint on it (strange noise though!) but I just found it easier to have the signal go direct from coil to headphones.

Cordless Headphones – Easily the best cordless headphones on the market. You get a really sharp signal as you pass over the target – no delayed signal. The more I use the ‘backphones, the more I like them as I can wear a cap, hat or hood without any problems. They will also not make my ears sweat in hot weather (if we get any!)

Interference – In short, there isn’t any. My sole worry was that if another detector interfered with the Deus then it would simply not work. I can now confirm that I have attended several rallies with the Deus and it worked perfectly every single time, even alongside other Deus users.

In short, other than price, I can see no reason why everyone should not be using this detector. It is not a cheap detector – but it is incredible. There is a waiting list for this detector but put your name down for it before it is too late as it is getting longer by the day. WHITES Spectra V³™

I have been in the hobby for nearly 30 years and I have seen some really good machines come and go in that time but very occasionally something a bit special turns up – and this is one such occasion!

The Spectra V3 is quite some machine. The first thing that hits you is the full colour screen and it is full of useful information which will increase your finds rate. It has so much that it is difficult to know where to begin. It has a ‘triple boost’ which will drain your batteries when used , but will give added depth for those ‘special’ occasions. It has cordless headphones as standard which everyone will appreciate. It runs simultaneously on three frequencies, 2.5kHz, 7.5kHz & 22.5kHz. Or you can run all the power through just the one frequency for even greater depth.

I can strongly recommend that you buy your Spectra V3 from us for two very big reasons. Firstly, we will set this detector up for you – this will save you literally hours of detecting time. You are going to have loads of questions and together we can get you machine set up exactly as you want it – it will be unique to you when finished. Secondly, we will see you regularly on our club meets and I will be on hand to talk you through your new machine and will alter it for you myself if required. I nearly forgot – If we both have Spectra V3’s, I can ‘send’ you my settings while we are detecting.

Important – If you are a ‘switch on and go’ detector user then this may not be for you. However, if you are willing to play with the controls a little then you are going to like this detector. In the first week, every detector user that came into our shop wanted this detector – it really was that impressive. It is not a cheap detector so I would recommend that you call in and look at it when you get the chance.

If you decide to take one away with you we will show you how to use it correctly before you leave. The best way to describe this new machine is to say that it combines the ease of use and lightness of the X-Terra 705 plus the depth of the Explorer. You can set it up in  ‘two-tone’ where it is one high tone for ‘good’ and one low tone for iron – you don’t even need to use the meter!  You will then have access to all of our sites so if you have any questions, we can go through them with you out in the field.

This is a very special detector and it is not a sales pitch when I say that you are really going to like it. I have handled all of the top machines over the past 25 years and I am really impressed with what this machine does – and I am still learning how to get the best out of it. Go out and try one – better still just buy it!.

Very light and with a fast recovery allowing you to find small targets close to iron.

A specialist machine that will suit the more experienced user. If you want a machine that finds small hammered coins really deep - then this could be the one for you. Don't forget that you can use their cordless headphones on it - they are superb!

Teknetics T2

Outstanding performance and very light.

Although this detector has been around some time, it has started to create quite a lot of interest with its outstanding performance. It is light, very easy to use and just seems to find more targets than other detectors in its price range. It has a large meter and can be set to give a clear positive and negative signal. Then just pull the pinpoint switch and there it is!

If you want a powerful detector but need it to be lightweight – then it has to be the T2. Come into the shop and try it out.

GARRETT ACE 250 Sports Pack

Hate the name, but you get the Ace 250 with two coils plus a few other freebee's for just £249.00! A very good package for a beginner who wants a 'serious' detector at a reasonable price.

It has Sensitivity for depth, Discrimination for rejecting unwanted targets and a good pinpoint. It also uses a clear and easy to understand meter, all at an afforable price.

GARRETT ACE 150

A low pricetag, simple to use and very light.

A perfect entry level machine. It may look similar to the Ace 250 but different in design, what you lose in depth you gain with the easy to understand user interface.
